Delete your FRiENDS account

Friend Tech LLC

You can delete your account and its data at any time. You do not need to contact us, and you do not need the app installed.

From inside the app

Open Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

If you no longer have the app

Email alex@joinfriendsapp.com from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We will verify that the request comes from the account owner and complete it within 30 days, usually much sooner. We ask you to write from the account's own address because the alternative — taking anyone's word for whose account it is — would let a stranger delete yours.

What is deleted

• Your profile, username, email address, phone number and bio
• Your posts, photos, videos, captions, comments and reactions
• Your messages, and your membership of every chat and friend group
• Your friendships, friend requests and blocks
• Your stories, calendar events and event invitations
• Your sessions, sign-in history and push notification tokens

What remains, and for how long

• Messages you sent to other people stay in their copy of the conversation, in the same way an email you sent stays in the recipient's inbox. Your name is removed from it.
• Encrypted backups are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted automatically. We do not restore an individual account from them.
• Records we are required to keep — for example a report of illegal content — are retained where the law requires it, and for no longer.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription, because we do not control the billing — Apple and Google do. Cancel it first, in the App Store or Google Play account settings, or it will keep renewing. On iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
